California's Pension Protection Bill
Two years ago, the city of Vallejo declared bankruptcy. Fifty-eight employees receive annual pensions over $100,000, and the city owed the California Public Employees' Retirement System $135.4 million for health benefits and $83.9 million for unfunded pension benefits, while its general fund budget was $89 million.
